Hurray, it's a brand new day and new year! Happy to know that we all make it to the new year with good health and fitness both physically and mentally.
The day starts with much noise here and there as people ignite their knockout and other fire works from the moments the clock announced the arrival of the new year.
The shouts of 'happy new year' fills the air from different centers of worship. Some burn old tires and the fires and flames lightens up the environment as they dance, drink and light more fire works into the air.
When day breaks and I went out for my fitness health walk from Ikot Ekwere Itam to Inyank street down to Itam International market, the streets looks empty as some people are still sleeping, some are cooking, some watching movies and others went out to visit the parks, cinema and other choice places.
Even the ever busy Itam market is under lock and key, and the street looks less busy with few chicken sellers calling out for patronage from anyone that passes by.
The irony is, despite the poor economic situation in the country with its anticedent high cost of living, people still go all out to celebrate the little they can even with their mean resources. In fact a six weeks old chicken goes for as high as #21,000, #18,000, #15,000 as the case maybe as against the previous #3,500, #5,000 and #7,000 respectively. Life they say most go on irrespective of the economic turnout.
After I am done with my sight seeing and street walkout, I retrace my steps and walk my way back home.
I have been able to make over 10600 steps to keep fit and healthy.
That is my new year's Actifit fitness health walk as well as #Wednesday walk by @tattoodjay.
Thanks for being there and stopping by my blog. See you all in the rest of the days into the new year.
Cheers!
