This is my post for #freewriters 2600 prompt agency of aliens hosted by @mariannewest
As I stood looking at the ruins I noticed an iguana crawling on the rocks. We do not have them running everywhere back home. But here in Mexico, no one pays them any mind. They are not all small like this one and they do not move when you walk by.
As it crawled along the ruins a few rocks started to fall.
The group I was with went on, but I stayed watching a hole the iguana opened. I watched until all of the rocks stopped falling.
As I stuck my head inside the opening, I was filled with excitement as to what treasure I would find. Would it be gold, silver, or jewels?
I heard something and it was coming from a rock, it was talking, calling order to the agency of aliens meeting that was about to begin.
I looked around and could see there was another world living inside the ruins. The trees were orange and rocks could talk.
I could barely hear it but saw it running toward the other objects, (aliens or rocks). As it got closer, I could hear it apologizing for being late.
This guy did not like the ghost crab being late and went on for 10 minutes about how she was always late no matter where she was going. If you did not guess yet, as it turns out that they are married.
Hussssssh, roared across the cave. It was the oldest of all, he had been patiently watching and listening to the meeting being called to order and had heard enough from the skate egg. Secretly the eldest had a soft spot for women and could not and would not tolerate a man being negative towards one.
Another rock who had a bigger mouth than the first one spoke. The meeting has now begun and a hush fell across the cave.
All eyes were on the thing standing on a rock and the rocks and shells on the ground started with a hum that slowly grew louder and the shells started moving toward the big rock. As they got closer the thing on top started to shake, it was coming to life. I was shocked at what I next saw.
A new creature was standing on a craft table, where it was going to get its colors. Because of the excitement in the room, I thought it had to be new to their world.
I knew then that I could never tell anyone about this because if I did, their world would be changed or, worse, destroyed, gone forever. I touched a loose rock to get up from my knees. As I placed it over the opening, I heard a big THANK YOU that could have only come from the elder.
