What? Today is already the last day of December? Actually, it's the last day of the year, I can't believe how quickly it went by. And I didn't really contribute much to the challenge that was popular in @Worldmappin during this month, called #Winterchallenge. Actually, not once. 🤐
There are several reasons for that; one - I have been preparing to organize and write posts from previous trips for a long time, but somehow I didn't have time to do it - of course, because the month flew by too quickly. Two - I missed all the Christmas markets that were held around here, and that's a pity as I like them... And three - I haven't travelled anywhere, only now at the end of the month to go with our son to Valencia. I wanted to see the Christmas lights on the streets there but we didn't stay until dark, so I didn't get the chance to see them.
But, I finally compiled a few pictures from the city of Elda with its Christmas lights.
These are much, much more modest than any others I've seen in posts on Hive.
So, get ready for the simplest and most modest streets, although decorated with lights. Still, they give a certain feeling that winter is here, celebrations and holidays, and I want to participate in the #winterchallenge at least once, just for fun. That initiative ends today, and those who have regularly posted on that topic and collected points are at the top of the list. Congratulations to everyone. 🥂
The majority of these photos were taken a few days after the lights were officially switched on. It happened here on December 5. As you can imagine, I was not attending the happening; I miss out on all the things while at work but a few days later my husband and I went for a little walk so I saw a few spots in the city, dressed in Christmas lights.
The other little problem is that I am not really good at taking photos, especially when it is dark. 😂 but this building looked cool with these long, hanging lights.
The street where shoes live and walk on high heels.
This is the Christmas tree in the main square. Old and young were around it and everyone wanted to take a photo with the Christmas tree. That means - no chance to have a photo without people around it. :D
Theater:
Dressed trees in one park.
Another Christmas tree in front of the University Headquarters. It was changing the colours of the lights so I got here a blue one.
The next time I passed by it, I saw it differently. Though, maybe it is just me who sees it as different. 😆
In the square in front of the City Hall (first photo in this post) we can see the letterboxes for the three wise men. Well, there are only two names here, Melchior and Gaspar, and the third (Balthasar) was placed at the entrance to the city hall. I still haven't written my letter to the three wise men. What am I waiting for?
Truth be said, I didn't take photos of all the other decorated streets. When I tried to do that, the photos didn't turn out very nice so I stopped taking photos... that said, maybe I could ask the three wise men to help me document in a bit nicer way the streets I will hopefully see in the next few days.
May you all have a great New Year's Eve!!
