Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday, to change our routine a bit and to enjoy the bright sun we had, I decided to go to Kensington Metropark with Kaia. Very similar park as 2 weekends ago, but a bit bigger, with the entire loop around the lake slightly longer than 8 miles. For some reason, most of the parking lots were closed but we found a good spot, and started walking along one part of the lake.
Swans and ducks were also enjoying the weather.
After about a mile, we crossed a bridge with a good panoramic view of the lake on both sides.
But we found plenty other great views along the way.
Kaia agreed the scenery was great
When we arrived to that next stop, it almost had this deserted island feeling.
Kaia also had to pose with some of the oddities we found along the path.
We were getting close to one of my favorite view points in that park.
It's usually great for the sunset, although we were slightly early for it.
Unfortunately it was getting late and after a bit more than 3.5 miles, I thought it was time to turn around, as completing the entire loop would mean finishing really after nightfall. Even the birds seem to tell us to go away.
I thought we had for sure missed the best part of the sunset, but getting close to that 'Cast away' place from earlier, it was a great view.
Again, Kaia agreed fully.
Perfect view from that bench.
But it's even better from 'sea level'..
At that point, we really had to pick up the pace and get back to the car.
Swans were getting ready for bed.
At the bridge, the sun was now fully disappeared.
One last view from the car before driving back. It was now really dark, and I am glad we turned back when we did, or we would have really finished too late.
That was a great walk and a good change of pace. Both Kaia and I enjoyed it, as you can see from all the pictures (sorry but it's already just a small selection of all the pics I snapped!). She was also very tired, she didn't move at all during the entire drive back home! Like I always say, a tired dog is a good dog!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
