My Top 3 Hive Income Posts for 2024

in Proof of Brain9 days ago

Thinking back about everything during 2024, I also thought about my journey here on Hive during this past year.

I cannot exactly call it one of the best years we've had, but hey, here we are...at the end of 2024 and still going strong!

Yes, besides dropping my mobile phone and shattering the whole screen, it eventually decided frustrate me more than anything else by only working when it felt like doing so...

My laptop was next inline, gradually slowing me down until I just reached a point where I couldn't handle it anymore and had to "fire" it...lol.

We had numerous unplanned trips travelling up and down between Durban and Johannesburg and then the tragedy of my mother-in-law sadly passing away...

No wonder I wasn't nearly as active on Hive as I would have liked to be...

But, scanning through my content of the past year, I thought I will do a post today about my "Top Three Hive Income Posts for 2024".

Yes, I decided to not only be looking at the challenges of 2024, but also find and celebrate some highlights!

Here are my three top performing posts, starting with the third best, then second, and then the post that achieved the best HIVE Reward income.

I rated them according to income, but it was also interesting to look at the other stats.

Here we go...

Last Light on Durban Beach.

The third highest Hive income was earned by this post:

It was a post I published in the #wednesdaywalk community. I took some shots during a late afternoon walk on the Durban Beachfront.

I spotted a cargo ship leaving Durban Harbor...

...and a few minutes later I was able to "frame" the same ship for this image.

A highlight of this outing, was when I spotted this vessel cruising by, close to the shore line.

Can this Place Really be Close to Home?

The second highest Hive income for a single post for this year, was this post:

I wrote this post during a collaboration between the #dreemport community and @worldmappin during July.

The topic was right up my alley, as I love travelling, going out on outings and walks. This was about discovering a nice, interesting place that is close to you.

I decided to share a post about Paradise Valley, a nature reserve that is literally a 12-minute drive away from us.

And I think it is really a little "paradise" in the "valley".

The highlight of this walk, was the waterfall.

A beautiful view while standing at the bottom of the waterfall.

Highlights in Umhlanga.

And in first place, the post that earned me the most Hive income for a single post in 2024, was:

In this post I pointed out some highlights that you can expect when you visit Umhlanga, just north of Durban, on the east coast of South Africa.

  • Beaches.

Being a coastal town and a popular holiday destination, it is logic that the beaches would be one of the first things that comes to mind.

If you want to get away from the crowds, you can also go for a relaxing walk along the beach.

Umhlanga is also popular for it's boat launching from the beach.

  • The Whalebone Pier.

You cannot visit Umhlanga without a walk on the Whalebone Pier. It is a well-known landmark in Umhlanga.

  • Umhlanga Lighthouse.

Another landmark which Umhlanga is known for, is the Umhlanga Lighthouse.

  • O'Conner Promenade and the Forest Boardwalk

If you want to go for a nice walk, or your early morning or late afternoon jog, the O'Çonner Promenade is the place to go to.

And once you reach the end of the promenade on the northern end, it is a good idea to carry on walking on the Forest Boardwalk...

...until you reach the Forest Cafe at the end of the Boardwalk, about 800m into the forest!

Believe it or not I have yet to get to Paradise Valley, such is life!

I can believe it...lol! We also kept driving past it, until the one day when I just decided that "today is the day that we are going to Paradise Valley"😅.

So many little hidden spots around, my next is to visit Botha's House at Pennington once I am back up and running.... !LUV

Gorgeous trail walks, my eldest son thoroughly enjoyed a day with friends down there. Recently a nephew stopped over for a couple of days, mentioned it is well worthwhile to book in for a complete rest and relaxation coming from Jo'burg.

That sounds very interesting! That is definitely something to consider in the new year 👍🏻
