Today we packed up the little ones and visited the doctor to see little Daniel.
Daniel was cracking up the associates with his comments. Last time, he talked their ears off about Minecraft, today we encouraged him to talk about something else. So after thinking for a moment he said very loudly "LOOK AT HOW BIG MY MOUTH IS!" They began cracking up as he opened his mouth as big as he could. "MY MOUTH IS AS BIG AS MY FACE, SEE?" It was comedy hour in the room and everyone was in stitches as Daniel came up with this brilliant new conversation starter.
Anyone who say homeschooled children are not social ought to meet my children, they're way more social than I ever was at their age. Perhaps a little awkward and funny, but certainly not anti-social!
A Funny Sense of Humor
I think with this sunshine, everyone in our house is a little delirious. My children have a very unique sense of humor. While in the office, my wife related to me a very funny story.
One of my daughters, while she was doing her schoolwork today said to my wife very seriously "Mom, I have a question." "What is your question?" "Why..." dramatic pause "did the chicken cross the road?" Without missing a beat "To get to the popcorn on the other side." A moment of silence "No..." She looks up at her mother seriously "To get to the popcorn in the middle of the road! BEEP BEEP!"
I'm not sure why, but that joke had both of us laughing. It was the way she said it, so dead-pan straight and with such an unexpected ending. They say it's all about delivery and.... timing.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin
We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.
No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13
Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny
Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations. Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.
