As a special treat for this week, we made sweet unleavened cinnamon raisin breads for breakfast. Our typical Sunday is pancake and shower day, but today is a little different. A simple recipe of water, flower, raisins and yogurt.
Made into an unleavened lump.
Divided into little lumps
Momma flatten them out
Fry them in butter... yum! My oldest daughter took on this job!
Once fried, her sister's job was to cut them into quarters.
We got a production going
The final step was dipping them in sugar and cinnamon.
The final product was soft and chewy, sweet and delicous. Especially with a generous spread of cream cheese!
Unleavened!
As most of Christendom is memorializing the Resurrection of Jesus, we are celebrating the week of unleavened bread, because the RISEN Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus) is of sincerity and truth, without hypocrisy - may we all celebrate his life and teachings and the resurrection in sincerity and truth!
Let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Cor 5:8
I cannot think of a better way to celebrate the risen King better than by keeping the feast, as Paul instructs us, with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth! No play-acting, no hypocrisy, no theatrics... just breakfast! Sincere joy, fellowship, kindness, a peaceful collaboration, seeking the truth of the scriptures and the will of the Most High God.
