My children are now in future Model school at IFA Atai. They were schooling in Hopeland prime school before now. I have to remove them from the school because of some changes in that school which i don't really like. Now in future Model school, they have made good progress in their education. Infact my last Son result was too good that i have to buy new clothes for him👖👕.
PTA meeting held on 04/02/2023
On Friday as he came back from school, he gave me a letter from the headteacher inviting parents for PTA meeting. I rescheduled my time so that I will be there. It was the first meeting for the year. The meeting started from 11:am and closed by 3:pm. It was one of the best PTA meeting i have attended.
The meeting was held in their new building. They are using rented apartment and right now building their own. It started with opening prayer by Mr Atim the principal of the school. After introduction of teachers and parents, the headteacher called on Mr Olegunye a professor in University of Uyo to address the parents.. it was a lengthy talk but so interesting and informative. He encouraged parents to do their best in teaching their children at home.
Parents are their children role model
He told parents that they are the role model of their children. They should mold their children and should not allow or hand over their parental care into the hands of teachers. He also said that, whenever your child is mentioning a name of a particular person always, parents should find out who that person is.
Make it your goal to read with your children
He urged father's to make it their goal to read with their children even if it is 5 minutes. He said, that father's voice remains in the heart of their children and they have that confidence that Dady cares.
Always reward your children when they do well, but don't over promise
In as much as parents love to reward their children for their good performance in school, they should not over promise them. Let them know that what you are giving them is a privilege not that it is their right. When children know that their parents gives them gift from their heart not with pain, they will appreciate it and love them more.
Parents should be interested in their children teacher, their role model
In school, teachers become role model for our children. There is that tendency that our children will imitate their teachers so parents need to know the teacher very well. They need to also have good relationship with the teacher. That will make it easier to know if he can set a good example for their children or not. He encouraged parents to make out time for those important thing also..
Go for educational rips, the your children to educational trips
Parents should go for educational trips with their children. Teach your children what you know, it can be medicine. It can be tread, you can also take them out to learn from others too. With this you are building a great future. Parents have too much to do to feed the children, pay school fees, buy clothes and treatment too. But they should not allow those things prevent them from giving their children home training.lol
A parents should learn how to dance, sing and play with your children
He said that many parents do not have time for their children. They paid the teachers to teach their children. They pay nanny to care for them and automatically detached themselves from their children. He said one of the entertainment should be parents playing and dancing with their children. He said that this will help parents to reach the heart of their children.
A successful meeting
It was really a great training and a successful meeting. Parents were so happy how the school management is teaching and caring for their children. I also appreciate them too. Yes, i can say that they are doing very well. I tried to know names of all the teachers and have their contact too. Proprietor of the school who said the concluding talk said that he is proud of us parents.
He said that the way we respond each time he call for PTA meeting is impressive. It showed that we parents want the school to grow. We were served with light refreshment and the meeting closed with a prayer too.
