Kinship and duty

I am my mother's son,
I used to speak to rivers,
I used to call the rain,
I used to ride the storm.

I am my nana's nephew,
the one amongst the few,
I used to play with dragons,
I used to run with Gorgons.

Once upon a time,
when I was a child still,
I used to see the other world,
without any pill.

I wandered on the mountains,
I swam in hidden lakes,
I watched the sun at seaside,
I had all that it takes.

I used to grow my veggies,
I used to make my teas,
I used to check the caves,
Make fires and dig graves.

I was a child once,
My world, a magic one,
but now we have grown up,
the fantasy undone.

The river is not talking anymore,
the rain is done, and gone,
no fires in the night, no storms to ride,
no dragons, and no caves to hide.

We are grown-ups,
and we forget the world
that was once open
and now it is no more.

This makes me melancholic, I remember the make-believe fantasies and games in my childhood, once you grow up, its harder to keep the fantasy alive and pure like when you were a kid, even if fiction and literature are there, it just isn't the same.

Nice to hear that!
