Record-Breaking Growth in August: Aiming for 3500 MAUs in September

The discussion starts with the stats of month of August. @anomadsoul shared the very encouraging data form August month. The monthly active users (MAUs) form the August month breaks the previous records. Their were 1712 active users during the last month as compare to the previous record which was 1652 users in the moth of September 2023. So we surpass the numbers by 60 more users, so the user base grew by 60 users, a significant increase considering the total user base is around 1,700. The number of content creators was also all time high. In previous month the total number were 1230 which were exceeding the previous record by 130 users. The Khal shared the target of 3500 month active users (which is double the number) by the end of current month which is September. And this is possible only by the involvement of communality. Khal and Eric was very confident that the target is achievable with the help of referral program and he referral program is expected to be a key driver in achieving this goal. The data also shows that still we are behind when we talked about the commenters, the 400 numbers are not bad but still we need more work on that. Khal also shared some macro events like banning of X in Brazil which are in favor of platform along with the feature complete & having things working really well.


Boosting Growth with an Enhanced Referral System

Khal shared the update on new referral system and mentioned the importance of community's referral system in driving growth of platform. He shared the information on updated referral system which enable the users to use any content (let it be long form post, a thread, a short etc) form the platform to be used as referral link. With new update when a user shared any post (or any other content), a cookie attached for 30 days ensure referral credit if the referred user signup within the timeline of 30 days. For example if you shared a post on X, that link will count as a referral link and it will have a cookie attached to it that will sit in the users browser for 30 days or until they clear their cookies. The goal of the update is to encourage and incentivize the community to share Inleo link more actively on external platforms like X, reddit, Facebook, tick tok etc. This will benefit the both - users as well as the platform.
Eric also shared his approach of reaching the communities and instead of directly asking them to use the platform, ask them to use the referral link with their community and ask them to join and earn token. He compare the first system lie a bribe system and second one as using incentives. Khal also address the concern of some users how do not like to just share the referral links which seem to be a pyramid scheme. He also mentions that with the upcoming update make the referral system more clean and more attractive to invite new users. On answering to question form thread Khal clarify that the referral will goes to the creator of the content not to the person shared the link. For example if the content created by X users being shared on external platform by Y users then the referral will belongs to the user X as he is the original creator of the content.


Thread Goals for September and Challenges in Premium Subscriptions

In reply to a question Eric shared that the in previous month we have 105,000 threads and the target for the September will be 125K threads. He also shared the information on the month posts, in the month of August the platform hit the all time high post crested, in august in total 7500 posts were created, that also indicates the increase in number of contact creators. Thread growth has been surprising, with only a small increase from July to August despite the larger number of users. Eric suggest to include the referral link in the long form posts which will encourage new sign-ups. In reply to the thread question they also shared that the premium subscriptions is not growing proportionally to the number of MAUs and at present the capture rate is 12%. Khal also explained that it is not expected that a new users will not become premium member in one month. It took some time and that is also one reason. It smore challenging to convert a new user into premium subscriptions then retaining a existing premium member.
