Compliment of the seasoning to the members of this amazing blockchain, and I must say that I feel blessed celebrating another Christmas not just as a member of this blockchain but as a member of the Hive Learners community. I am grateful for the gift of life as usual and always encourage people to do the same when they feel like things are not going well or probably they have nothing to be grateful for.
I believe that as long as there is life, there is hope, and if we think that the gift of life is not worth being happy about, let's remember that there are people who would have loved to still be alive today but do not have the grace.
Honestly, I am excited about the season as usual. There are so many memories attached to the holiday for me, so it's always beautiful to not just revisit but also create new memories with friends and family. Despite the excitement, it breaks my heart to see so many terrible things happening in the country, especially during this time.
There is definitely no assigned day for terrible things to happen, and when it happens, there is just nothing we can do about it. The recurring fire incidents and stampede happening at different parts of the country breaks my heart whenever the news pops up, and I just wonder what the season would look like for the families of the victims of all these catastrophes. I can only pray that God comes through for the affected family and hope that these evils cease happening around us.
Like I mentioned earlier, I am excited about the season, and the holiday has officially kicked off at my end already. I actually do not have any obligations outdoors for the remaining days of the year except one pops up for good, and that's a huge relief. Many Lagosians will agree with me that the roads have become extremely busy, and the hike in transportation fare is nothing to write home about, so it's best to enjoy the comfort of your space if you don't have anything important to do outdoors.
My family's approach to the season celebration hasn't changed in a long time, it has always been simple and we just love being like this. It would be fair to call this a family tradition since we aren't planning to change how we spend the holiday anytime soon. When we were younger, we enjoyed the company of each other as a family, and it's still like that today. We spend the best part of the holiday indoors and only go out when it's very important; guests are welcomed, and I also have a gathering of friends to attend, but that's after Christmas.
As usual, we have different fun activities lined up for the holiday and usually do not run out of things to do despite staying indoors. As boring as our holiday routine might sound to people, it's what we consider the best for decades now.
In summary, the holiday for me and my family is all about resting, having fun, creating beautiful memories, and extending the happiness of the season to others in the simplest way we can.
I want to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to the Hive Learners community as a whole, most especially the moderators, for the great job throughout the year. I wish everyone a beautiful holiday and pray for journey mercies as we reunite with our families for the season celebration.
