in Galenkp's Stuff11 months ago

This is instalment eight of the #QCC concept where you can earn stuff just for a comment - there's 50 Ecency points and some comment-upvotes on offer and it could be a chance to engage with some new people and begin relationships.

𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒚

Post a single photo of something you drew, painted, coloured in, hand-made, knitted or hand-crafted...and in not more than fifty (50) words tell us something about it. You only have thirty (30) hours to get your comment in - if you use the Peakd front end there is a countdown timer on this post.

▶️ The photo must be your own - No stock images!

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆

A single image that you took personally of what you drew, painted, coloured in, hand-made, knitted or hand-crafted, basically anything of an arts and craft nature that you personally made, and your comment has to be under the fifty (50) word count. Be creative, interesting and fun, they're the ones that will catch my attention.

𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏

I'll transfer fifty (50) Ecency points to some of the comments and vote with larger than usual comment-votes than I would usually - but your comment has to meet the criteria above. (A few of my buddies may throw some votes in too.)

Note: If your comment and image is interesting it is more likely to get my attention for votes and Ecency points. Be creative and put in a little effort you'll have more chance of getting rewarded.

It's not complicated:

One photo that matches the criteria above and up to fifty words about it in a comment below - Be creative.

I will never ask anyone to reblog my posts but considering I'm giving away free stuff you may know someone who could use it, a new user perhaps. So if you feel like letting them know so they have a chance at free stuff for just for a comment please do so - It may also provide them some much-needed exposure.

This painting was made about seven years ago, in four parts of a lotus flower in purple and pink colours, which I painted in oil on wood for my mother. She was happy, and hung it in her bedroom, at the head of her bed, decorating the place.

My dad used to paint in oils and then went to acrylic on canvas. Nice colours here, the way you brough depth to the flower and all. Nice.

Why did he switch to acrylic, did he like it better? I like oil painting more because of the relief and the colours stand out more. I like to give life to things and I think that sometimes I paint as if things were coming out of the paintings. Thank you very much Galen!😀

I'm not sure, I wasn't born when he switched.

But you have his legacy in his works, that's wonderful!

dfr.png

Thank you very much!😀

Wow. It is very beautiful that oil painting, the colors you describe is a good combination, I imagine that painting must be on an all white wall so it can be the focus of attention.

The colour of the wall is not very noticeable but it is a very soft lilac for a contrasting picture. Thank you very much!❤️

You're a very skilled painter! Was it difficult to get the pieces to line up properly?

Thank you very much! No, I cut the wood and then paint with the shapes together, when I hang the painting I do have to make calculations to get it right. Thank you!😀

Wow very beautiful master piece. I would hang that in my favorite spot too.

My mother was super happy!!! Thank you so much!!!❤️

Wow, that is prettty incredible and I love the separate parts aspect of it!

It's easy! I put them together and paint them as if they were joined, when I finish I separate them. Thank you very much!

Lol, that is funny. Now that you describe just putting them together to pain it all makes sense!

I don't know if it hurts the painting, but to paint it, the parts have to be together.🤣

Beautiful paintings here! Really incredible job this would absolutely be something I would hang in my house!

Thank you very much! It was a pleasure to bring it!❤️

You are a revelation. This is beautiful. 😉 I can imagine your mother's happiness when she received it. It is a treasure for her.

The truth was so happy .... the painting stayed in Argentina, but the artist has it here hahaha I can repeat it!😁

Nice gift for your mom, very nice selection of color palette.

Thank you very much! My mother was super happy!❤️

Truly beautiful 😍😍

Thank you very much!!!❤️

Amazing art. Your Mom should be the happiest person on receiving this. I experienced the same a year ago from my daughter, but that was fabric painting. Her passion for drawing made her to take up the post of animator

Yes, my mum was super happy when I gave it to her, she loves that flower and those colours. Your daughter must be a great artist! Thank you so much!❤️

In pandemia, I learned how to make these Christmas ornaments to put on the tree, I saw a video on YouTube and I made them for my wife who loves Christmas and loves to decorate the Christmas tree, it's very easy, it's just a few CDs, crepe paper, foamy and colored markers.

We do handmade decos on the tree, love it!

This is really cool! I bet a lot of people have disks laying around from before that aren't much use anymore. Gotta love a good upcycle!

It is very easy to make these ornaments, I can tell you frankly as a man I am very clumsy for these things, but as it was for my wife, I dedicated a lot and I repeat it is super easy.

It's always nice to have something handmade on the Christmas tree. I watched my niece decorating her tree, (in Finland, by video chat) and they had some things her maternal grandmother had made to hang on there. It makes it more sentimental.

they had some things her maternal grandmother had made to hang on there. It makes it more sentimental.

Yes, that definitely has a great value, just as you mention, a sentimental value.

The tree in my home has other ornaments that are a little more complicated for me, my wife made them, but she loves the ones I made, and when she disassembles the tree she keeps them carefully in a CD box to protect them.

It's nice to have some family traditions like that, and it'll stick with your daughters and they'll do the same with their own children.

Im glad you made a great use of your time during pandemic :) It was also the time i got creative and made bunch of stuffs.

There was no other choice, the confinement forced me, but I got something good out of it.

Same. I learned a lot of hobbies during pandemic. And i wouldnt have it another way. 😊

Those are some great ornaments you've made!

Thank you, my wife loved it.

dfr.png

Very original and handmade ornaments, they would look great on any tree, congratulations!😃

I unfortunately deleted some pictures recently haha but I’ve still got this one!

I made this for my wife last year or the year before I forget but it was something I wanted to do that was a nice gesture and gives me a chance to make something. I really loved the saying and it felt good to try my hand at a little wood burning engraving!

B847A073-8630-444B-9BFB-282EE7B7D3DE.jpeg

I've never done wood burning, except in a campfire, but I know someone who does it and what can be created is incredible.

It was actually pretty cool and fun to do as well! I bought a tool on the cheaper side so it was a little more challenging but I had a lot of fun doing it. Go with the softer wood like pine and you’ll be able to do it pretty well. Hard wood is a huge pain lol

You've seen those pictures people do? Quite amazing really. Also, have you seen that process of using gunpowder to do the same thing?

This is such a cool and thoughtful gift, I can imagine that she must have been absolutely thrilled that you made her this present yourself. Wood burning has always been fascinating to me 😁

Thank you! It was great and I loved doing it, I enjoy making things and it's a lot of fun to make something for her that is also special and not just a shelf or something LOL

Wood burning is also pretty fun and easy! The tools aren't very expensive and they do a good job if you practice a little bit before and draw your design out.

dfr.png

nice work.

The woodcut is beautiful! I had something engraved with my name and I love it. Great job!😀

Hello, thanks for the mention here let me share a work with crochet because knitting is one of my passions and what I like about it is that every time I'm knitting my mind relaxes and lets me think.
I concentrate deeply on what I am doing and that is why I am so dedicated to my knitting.

dfr.png

My mum (mom) used to knit a lot and as a kid I had to wear the jumpers (sweaters). I know a couple guys that do it (and love to do it) but it's not something I think I'll ever do.

That top you knitted...looks rather see through! 😉

My mum was a great knitter too, Itried but could never quite get it!

Knitting needles, in my hands, aren't very productive, but with some steak skewered onto them and put on the BBQ they transform into wondrous sticks of seared flesh!

Hahaha, you might have hit upon the correct way to be using the things!!!

Someone had to.

Haha those Jumpers u Say should ask My son how many he weared.

Gracias por su aceptación señor @galenkp and thanks for the points tho ☀️

You're welcome for the points...maybe you can knit me a jumper. (Just kidding.)

Jajajaja would a pleasure. (No joke)

!LOL

What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

Looks good!

I admire people who knit like this...it's so beautiful and also they can always make gifts with so much meaning, because the act of knitting takes time, love, and skill.

Turning a flower arrangement into a handcrafted masterpiece:
because arranging flowers is basically Mother Nature's way of saying, 'I'm an artist, and this is my canvas.'
Crafty much? I think so 😅

Floral arrangements are an art... Ikebana is called in Japan and it is very curious all the philosophy behind it.

Yours is cool.

Thank you, I appreciate that!

Just trying to buy flowers whenever I feel like sprucing up my house.

I do think that I need to get a nicer vase though, the one I'm using in the photo is actually a reused jar that previously contain some food items 😅

Well, I usually make my floral arrangements in an old can...the older and more faded the better. That way the flowers stand out more. 😁

Wow that is a very nice perspective! 😍

😁

I like the different direction you took with this one, flower arrangements are certainly their own work of art!

Yeah had to wing it since I am not an artistic person! 😅

Crafty and creative indeed!

Thanks for those points again!
Sending it right back to you with some top up (all I have 😅) for future engagements!
Just taking some time out from work to participate in this to still show my presence 😂

You're too generous, but those who receive those points from you will be grateful. Cheers mate, and I hope you week is going well.

Yeah it was going well until I had a meeting with the management yesterday that got me feeling really stress right now. TLDR, the project that I have been working on for the past couple of weeks had to be scrape and I have to start from scratch 😒

You had to start all over again? That sucks, although (I hope) they had their reasons.

I mean they surely have their reasons but not one that I was ready to accept.
Then again, I still have to re-deliver it to the best of my abilities.

Just feeling a little more upset especially during period where everyone is feeling festive while I have to work my ass off 😖

Hmm, that's understandable and considering you're re-doing it all over...I don't blame you for being a little upset.

After I asked the car painter about the price of painting the bumper on the car, and after being informed that the entire bumper needs to be painted, I bought a sample of the original color and painted the scratch on the bumper myself, which I earned in a parking lot.

I did a similar job on my black guitar, I dropped it when incredibly drunk and bodged a big chip out of the enamelled finish. When I took it to be repaired they said it would be frightening amount to fix it as they would have to do the whole bit. The guy then smiled and recommended I go to an art store and buy some high gloss black enamel, touch up the gap with plaster and paint over. I did, and it did the job!

The guitar still plays 🙂 and it has a personal artistic touch.
As soon as it has a high shine, I believe it is some kind of electric?

Yes indeed, I am an electric guitar man mostly!

untitled.gif

Lol

Car artwork...Nice one!

Pure amateurism 😀

More arse than class? At least the job got done.

There is a saying in our country: "Cut the ears, patch the ass", when you patch something to save money...
And I also like yours, it's more like the English saying "More arse than class" 😂

I don't think it's a bad thing to look for alternatives to spending money, I do it all the time. If I can fix something I will.

I'm actually struggling over a decision at the moment, whether to buy a new computer or not. The one I have, despite being only three and a half years old, is failing but I'm reluctant to buy a new one just yet. I might write a post about it on the weekend.

There's things I won't compromise on, will get fixed up properly and by a professional, but I don't like wasting money so if I can fix something myself then I'll have a go. The worst that can happen is I mess it up and have to pay for it to be done anyway.

Nice there's a lot of satisfaction in doing it yourself!

I like DIY, especially when it can save money... Better 7e for this sample and the stain is repaired, than 150e for painting complete bumper, which will probably get another scratch in the parking lot...

Thanks 😀

It was during pandemic when i started my love for reading books. I can still remember the first classic book i picked was Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Then i eventually explored memoirs. And then poetry. The above photo is a poetry book entitled Pillow Thoughts by Courtney Peppernell which i printed and book bind myself. During that time, some books that i want to read are difficult to find in the market or are just too expensive. So i printed my own, if it make sense. 🙂

This looks pretty cool, was the binding process difficult?

At first it was kinda difficult but as i went on binding more books, the process was actually very therapeutic. I love how i could design my own book cover too.

dfr.png

That's nice! Printing and binding your own stuff is a good idea!

How cool! You bound the book itself, I love that. Handmade and your own. Very nice job!❤️

You made me go through my gallery to may 2022. First, I was thinking what should I share which is not shared yet. This is Eid wishes written decorated on food topped with more food items. It took me and my sister some hours to make. 3rd one is a smile face decorated. Eid day means happy day. Thanks for making me go through my all memories in gallery. It's mostly food.

(I sent 1k points to appreciate the engagement contest, check your wallet)

Strange World. I created this in 2017. It was my first art piece. In this work I used pyrography( burning on wood). In my later works I started using acrylic paints and colored pencils.

Cool you posted a wood burning, as did I!

thank you.

I love this work and the wood and all the works made in it fascinate me! beautiful work!❤️

thank you very much.

Thank you to you!

Oh, it's the first art piece, these things are always very dear to us and they mean so much, right?

you are right. thank you.

Beautiful work, I love wood works. It is a very versatile material for handicrafts.

thank you very much.

Oh yeah, I think you've posted that one before. Wood burning art is pretty cool.

thank you.

This origami has great significance for me and I think I will keep it among my most precious things, because it is the first one I have made in my life and I did it watching a video of @elbuhito. The magic of #Hive. 😉

I do origami too...I actually just made this origami soccer ball.

numthazzolirothian.jpg

Ok, it might just be a scrumpled up piece of paper...but with some imagination it could be an origami soccer ball.

🤣😂 OMG

😁

do you like coconut concrete? it is a piece of art. 😁

I was only thinking the other day how much I love coconut concrete. 😂

🤣

You like my mad origami skills too? I'm telling you, I'm amazing at it, I think that's pretty clear to see.

Oh yes! It's amazing the number of talents you have and just when I think I've seen everything, you surprise me with something else.

Haha, yeah I guess I have to release them on the world little by little so as not to overwhelm anyone. My origami skills are clearly next level.

It certainly makes ME want to try it !

You'll be a superstar at it, I'm sure!

dfr.png

The first play is always the most emotional and you just learned with Yami. What a beautiful little fish!❤️

I don't know if you are familiar with the character of chota bheem or not but it was one of my favourite cartoons in my childhood.

A few days ago I participated in a contest on hive where I drew that character.

Not bad at all...it reminds me of a cartoon character called Astro Boy.

Yup it also looks like that (I just searched astro boy)

But actually I am pointing towards this guy

Indian Astro Boy.

Actually it is Indian 🙂

By the way can I ask whats up?
What are you doing right now and how are you

Ok, edited.

I've just finished dinner and had a shower. I'm going to settle in to read for a bit. To be honest I'm pretty sick I finished work for the year yesterday and felt like I was getting sick and sure enough, pretty bad head cold. It's not pleasant. I'll live though, slept a lot today and hopefully after a good night's sleep tonight I'll be feeling a little better tomorrow as I have to start getting ready for Christmas day.

I hope you're well too, whatever you're doing.

Oh wow
Looks like a busy routine. What kind of readings do you like the most?

Yup, I am doing well.

I read a lot of things, history, military books, biographies, fiction of various genre's and more besides...I read a lot. Currently I'm finishing off, Testament of Youth and will be starting a book called Dark winter, by Andy McNab after that.

Good job drawing it!

Thanks brother 😊

This clock is completely handmade in corrugated cardboard and manufactured paper. I made it some time ago as a commission from a client to give her husband as a gift for his 65th birthday. I usually work for children, I make all kinds of decorative elements for children's rooms, but this project seemed super interesting and the honoree was delighted with the gift. He is a Barça fan, so in a product I combined his passion with something useful like a watch.

dfr.png

You made that yourself? It looks like a bought one, nice work!

Thanks, I have made it myself completely by hand, only the machinery is purchased XD. I am dedicated to the manufacture of articles with cardboard and paper. Here is another image.

Sorry I put another one when you said it was only one.

They look cool, you're very talented! How long would it take to make one of those lights in this image?

Thank you very much. Making a lamp takes me 2 days of work, it is not very profitable 🤭, but it is very comforting to see the final result. The manual work takes a lot of time, that can be for many its negative side but at the same time the attention to detail and the meticulous work gives it its value.

I think, if you enjoy it then that's the big win.

That's right, I enjoy the process and especially each result.

You should accept orders and payments by HBD. I'm just saying.

Yes, I totally agree!!!

It really is a work of art! I was once commissioned to paint a clock, it was an oil painting, it was birds in a forest... what a beautiful job you did!❤️

Pretty late in this, but here is my little crafts work on an apple.

20211020_123831.jpg

I am not an artist, but sometime I make somethings that make me happy. I chopped this apple with so many pieces, layer after layer, that it looks to be a good design in itself. Fun with fruits. It was just a trial with my apple, and i was inspired by different chefs that serves the food in different attractive way.

I have never tried those!!! It looks beautiful! I've seen fruit decorations and they are fantastic.... you could do fruit decorations!😃

I am.not perfectionist...but this one just comes out nicely

and very well!!! Look what a hidden talent you had!😄

🫢😊😊

dfr.png

It's not late. Nice work on the apple, you must have a nice sharp knife to do that I'd imagine.

Nt sure of the sharpness....but it just happen, I was not in mood of eating it and finally chopped it completelly

Haha, if one doesn't feel like eating the food one might as well cut it into geometric shapes! ✅

It looks very artistic and appetizing as well. 😅

Thanks...it just came out nicely...

The piece from 2012 that convinced me I should paint abstract art. I was handmaking random things for my walls from fabrics, papers, things from the junk drawer & etc and then I made this and it said "you should paint abstract art" .... so I have every since.

One hot mess.jpg

My dad used to do some abstract work and I'll admit to not liking it, however as I got older, gained experience and greater perspective on life I've come to see it differently and so appreciate it a lot more than when I was a kid; I guess I see things in it that I didn't as a kid.

I'm not totally sure why I've always been drawn to the abstract. I think mostly in the beginning it was the one's with very bold colors that made my brain spark. I understand it's not for everybody. Many times when I would see abstracts by others, I'd think "I can do that" LOL..... but never really put my hand to it. Sure I've done many creative things through my life and a time or two I tried to paint, but I tried to paint things or landscapes or..... something other than abstract and let it go pretty fast each time. I wish I had started earlier so I would have time to get good at something. I do love some of the one's I've done (others not so much...LOL) and I enjoy having them on my walls.

It's interesting too seeing them close up and from across a room. Sometimes from halfway across a room, they have a different look to them as some of the smaller details no longer stand out.

I am not compelled to name all mine, but once in a while a name belongs with one and a good while after I created this, I decided it's name should be One Hot Mess ! I thought it was appropriate.

Maybe you like them because in them you see that which isn't obviously apparent, that it appeals to your more creative side and allows your your imagination to tumble into it unfettered and without the rules of form and function?

Either way, one hot mess is a legit name for any abstract work, nice one!

dfr.png

This is an awesome idea. I'll be back later after I dig up an arts and crafts pic so I can make some new buds 😁!

Dig away!

I'm hoping when you typed, I'll be back, in your head you were saying it like the Terminator.

ahahaha I need your beading, your pottery, and your watercolors! 😎🤖💪

I'm a ninja when it comes to Macramé...and if you believe that, you're way more bonkers than I am.

My mom @tejidorosa and a friend called @dooh92 should SEE this 🙂

So she's your mom? Wow... cool!

Yea, she is a great artist of crochet but for some reason keep saying this is "hard" (posting) i know Wahe will understand and get confortable here slowly. 🌹

Let her go step by step, without haste, until she learns well. When she repeats the same process a few times, she will see that it is not so complicated. It's just practice.😇

Yo, can i use a picture of a few days ? (I mean, one picture i already posted) is My last paint job.

You can use it.

Well this paint was Made by me and a friend, we struggle hard with the materials (it still need more paint but we got out of it) to make it, the result in My opinion is at 75% still need more details.

Anyway this is the picture i was talking about, this is for everyone in my Town bro, they need see something fresh, cool and inspírate with it.

This is wonderful, I love the blue, and everything that comes from the sea. Nice!

Congratulations to both of you. 😍

Tysm! If u like can check the full post to see the small details (and a video of the process) que run out of blue paint hopefully we finish that soon. ✨

dfr.png

That looks really cool!

It is an excellent work, very well painted, an incredible mural, thank you and congratulations!❤️

Tysm 🥺.

Hopefully more coming soon ⚡
