Today's election day here in Ghana and there's tension everywhere. The US had their elections about a month ago and it was smooth but in Africa, there's almost always disasters. As at close of the day ,there had been 4 dead and a few injured just because we are going to vote for people who will mismanage the economy and go to the West and East for loans which come at a heavy cost.
Already, there are foreigners milking our resources here for free just because we owe them and the government can't do anything about it. Government after government continues to do the same thing and yet, people fight each other during every election. All dignitaries in Ghana have visas to other countries but the poor men and women who have nowhere to go are the ones fighting. I hope by the end of tomorrow, everything will be calm and we will know who has won.
Someone compared this elections to a relationship. It's like someone having to choose between their ex who cheated and their current who is disrespectful. Hopefully, everything ends peacefully. So far, turn out seems to be low at around 60%. I'm not a registered voter because I believe none of them is good enough. I wish there'd be a third force but for now, that's all I can do. Wishing. I thank God for generally peaceful elections and I hope the winners declaration will be peaceful as well.
