There are many different species of forest berries someone can eat, in the Nordic countries of Europe. Finland has 50 different species of such forest berries.
Berries comes in various colors and flavor and they are very healthful. Also these berries contain fibre that can stabilize blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

In Nordic Europe, particularly in Finland, families enjoy going to the forest to pick wild berries. In Finland for example, people are allowed to walk freely in nature, even if the land is privately owned, just don't cause any damage or get close to a home.
Scandinavian tradition allows people to pick berries, mushrooms, and wild flower, visually everywhere they go.
You know that the berries picked are fresh.
It also affords you the opportunity of picnic.
Berries are costly in the store, so picking reduces cost, therby saving cost.
If you are going berry-picking with your children, it's very important you keep close watchon your children for two reasons,
[1] They may wander away or
[2] Eat the unfamiliar poisonous berries
Wild berry-picking can be pleasant, but while picking berries you can be surrounded by a swamof pesky insects such as mosquitos and gadflies. You can protect yourself from these insects by wearing proper clothing and using insect repellents.
Finding the actual berry spot can wear someone down.
There has to be persistent searching for a good spot
Cleaning the berry after they are picked is another extra work.
What appears as a solid ground, can be a mudhole.
CONCLUSION
Because of the hardwork involved in berry-picking, most people will prefer to leave the berries for the inhabitants of the forest.
The pleasure of picking berries outweigh the efforts we put in.
