God is a healer and he can do the miraculous. But you rob yourself of an opportunity to see who God can be for you when you try to protect yourself outside of God's will.
It was not until I said, God, I need you because I don't know what's next and whether it hurts me or not, I know that you're still good. That I finally started developing a relationship with God and learning how to trust him and realizing he actually is trustworthy.
Now having a soft heart does not negate the fact that you will have things that you go through that are difficult. But how you navigate them will be different. And how you overcome them will speak volumes about the God that you serve.
