On a sunny late summer day, we decided to tje one of our grandsons to Tilgate Nature Centre. A smallish collection of animals that have been taken in for various reasons to be looked after. Many of which are birds, such as the Kookaburra.
There are a few mamals, but mainly small animals.
The ferrets were sweet snuggled up together in their hammock.
The donkey looked a bit bored standing against the low fence, so I gave it a good rub on the neck, which it seemed to enjoy.
The herron is a wild bird but just happened to be resting on the boundary fence. This nature centre backs onto a small lake with a nice platform to view the wild birds from as can be seen in my main picture.
The weather was perfect for a walk around this park. Afterwards, we enjoyed lunch in the walled garden cafeteria.
