Splintrlands - Trying to Reach Gold III

in Splinterlands7 days ago

With the Season ending in only 19 hours, I do not have much time to adance to the next league. I have been playing alot this morning but all i do is win one match then lose two or win two then lose one. Not making any movement to get those last 60 points. It is frustrating because i am so close and know that given enough time i will make it.

I was hoping that in these next few matches i would be able to get there and share the opening of the reward chests.

Match One

Broken Arrows and Lost Legendaries with a mana cap of 23 and only fire and Life to choose from active elements.

Needless to say i was no match against the level 8 summoner with two sneak cards in the lineup. The poison also kept me from making any progress even though my front card had heal. I tried to speed up my lineup as well but to no avail. Another loss goes down in the books.

Match Two

I had no choice but to try again with the Life element. I carefully picked the cards I wanted to use to ensure I had the best chance. I have not had the rule set "Need For Speed" very often but found that it greatly limits the number of cards that you have to pick from. I did not focus on the other rule set since the first rule set limited my selections

After submitting my line up, I then waited. The clock ran down and still not match occurred. The the Battle Results screen popped up and my opponent had surrendered. This was probably due to the "Need for Speed" Rule set. This put me back to needing 60 points for the next level.

Match three, four and five

Since i thought it would take quite a few more matches, i thought it best to skip documenting my thoughts about each one and just try to get some wins.

I must be very lucky because the bext three matches were all wins which produced enough points to advance to the next level.

Advanced to next level

I can’t believe it only took three more matches. All morning i was unable to get a streak going and then it just happened.

Gold III Loot - I received a total of 11 chests for advancing: 7 small and 4 medium chests.

One of the small chests contained a reward card then one of the medium chests produced three reward cards from the one chest. I do not believe i own either one of these cards.

I was both surprised and disappointed that I received so many chests with merits.

Won Enough Merits for Galdius Case

After I completed opening the chests i thought i would see if i had the 2000 merits for a Gladius Case. I did so i went ahead and redeemed the merits for one.

Upon opening the Gladius Case i was very pleased to have received a Gold Foil card. This will help with brawls and incresed rewards in matches were i can use it.

I checked to see if I received any duplicates if cards I already owned. Getting this additional copy allowed me the level this card up to level 3 giving it an additional health point.

I am do glad that i pushed myself to reach the next level. No only were the match winnings worth it but also the advancement provided additional cards that will be very useful in my collection going forward.
