Hello everyone!
Even when I was working all day on Tuesday, one unwavering thought I had in mind was to come back here to write about Eminem's track "I'm Not Afraid." I heard it repeatedly played in a house in the compound where we went for fieldwork. The song was so loud, and the sound system was giving it all the needed vibes, bringing out the house-shaking beat of that song. It's a song I loved so much back in the day, even though I didn't understand the lyrics. Okay, let me put it well: I didn't bother to check the lyrics because I think it's too fast for my understanding. Lol. The only part I know is the boastful line of the chorus: "I'm not afraid, to take a stand..."
So, in today's #ThreeTuneTuesday, "I'm Not Afraid" is coming in at number one.
Going to YouTube to check the video tonight while writing this, I saw that it has 1.8 billion views, and that's the highest view count I've seen on a video. That shows how lovely the song is.
Another on the list is "Stan" by the same Eminem.
This song is still not understandable to me, but I love the rhythm and the beat. A Nigerian artist named Sky B did a song more like a cover of this song, and it was a big hit.
My next on the list is the very 'crazy and high-spirited' song by Beyoncé, "Run the World."
Each time I hear this song, the video comes to play before my eyes, and I can picture how hot they were, I mean the ladies, because the song is for them, and they were glad knowing that they run the world.
