Hello friends, Hivers and the Shadow Hunter's Community. Here we are again this time in the 325th edition of the Shadow Hunter's Community /SMASh contest hosted by the lovely @melinda010100 . There is plenty of time to find some shadows and submit an entry. Just make sure to swing by the article and read the rules. This can be done by clicking here.
I took Friday off and decided to make a trip to the University of Nebraska State Museum - Morrill Hall in Lincoln, Nebraska. Really wasn't thinking of shadows but poof did some show themselves. This museum showcases a lot fossils both old and new. Only did I get to geek out 🤓 on fossils I caught some of them casting shadows.
Entry Photo
Oh I feel so lucky to have captured this. Now if it was many millions of years ago maybe not so much, haha. Now doesn't the shadow look scarier than the object itself? Well maybe it doesn't but it's certainly larger though.
This is a fossil of an Adult Allosaur. A dinosaur that dates back prior to the more famous known Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex). I caught this shadow on the 2nd Floor of the museum in an enclosed room. I shot it from another angle and the head of the Allosaur casted a shadows in two spots.
Another Allosaur but this one is an adolescent. Like father like son as far as shadows go? Instead of the shadow reflecting on the wall it's on the ground.
Here we have a replica of a Triceratops Skull. It's a cast from a real one but that doesn't take away from its shadow. You can see most of its shape in the shadow. Also pictured is a tiny baby triceratops with its tiny little shadow. It's also a replica cast of real one.
The end of the road, this is my last shadow photo to share. Here we have a Stegosaurus one dinosaur that had some defense against others. Really neat how some of its armored plates casted some shadows.
I hope you enjoyed these shadows from these pre-historic creatures. So many fossils were at this museum but so many were without shadows. If your into fossil no worries stay tuned there is many more I will share in the near future.
Take care, stay safe and keep following some shadows ok? Until next time!
