I have no patience in my life for defective things. Nothing is built to last forever. When items break, they inevitably do it at an inconvenient time. While they ultimately will be thrown away since they can't be repaired, I find it therapeutic to destroy them before they make their way to the trash.
I had help cutting down a curly willow tree that was obnoxious and dropped branches all over the backyard. I had to pick up the branches before I could mow the lawn. I now use the stump for cutting wood and for destroying defective items already on their way to the trash heap.
Today's item on the chopping block is an Arris SB6190 cable modem.
It started having issues lately. A couple of weeks ago I had to unplug it and plug it back in four times in one day, just to get an internet connection. I found a new one on sale for $39, so this piece of junk had to go!
Six chops later and...
This is what was left! Good riddance to garbage! These cable modems just don't seem to last more than a couple of years. Contrast that with routers, and those seem to last for a decade or more!
Thanks for stopping by! Keep an eye out for my next post to see what gets destroyed next! 😈
