Today we're going to look at a female allegory representing Ireland! Allegories are common to see, with two of the most famous being Liberty and Birtannia. I originally just bought this because of the design, but the more I researched it, I began to like it even more.
Obverse
The obverse features the Seal of Niue. I like that they didn't miss an opportunity to add some detail with the subtle wavy line design behind the seal.
Reverse
Now, this is the star of the coin! Lady Hibernia, wearing a Corinthian helmet. In her right hand she's holding a spear and the Harp of Ireland. Harpists were once highly regarded in Ireland. Guinness even trademarked the image in 1876. (Source)

I paid $34.95 for this gorgeous piece. You can typically find them for around this price, up to around $40. Collecting coins of the allegories can be a deep rabbit hole, so be careful. If you come across a good price, don't pass up the chance to get one!
