This morning started bright and sunny, so I went out for a walk fairly early today.
I was trying to take some pictures of the few insects that were about, but I completely failed with the butterflies. They just wouldn't stay on flowers long enough for me to get them in focus. Luckily, this little fly was more accommodating.
I also came across a few of these "Lords and ladies" plants in the lane up from Chewton Keynsham.
I was about halfway up this hill when I had to jump into the hedge as about 20 off-road motorbikes came racing up it. The good news is they were so loud I heard them coming in plenty of time. The bad news was the cloud of fumes that followed them and lingered for several minutes.
I know they were doing nothing illegal, but they were bloody annoying.
