I'm the son of a children's librarian and a radio announcer, and I've been a lifelong reader. For the past several years I've been reading stories live on YouTube often with a live artist. I don't try to create "professional" YouTube but rather just entertain my audience of friends. This illustration was created during one of our shows by my artist collaborator Elrodimus Flash, and then colored by an audience member Amy Lester.
Edit: The main purpose of my YouTube is not to make money or become YouTube famous but to act as a point of discovery for great and classic tales. It tends to attract an audience who is willing and able to slow down for a few minutes or an hour and immerse themselves in a story.
This is one of the reasons I have so much enthusiasm for Hive, it has the potential to promote, curate, and store content - stretching out to some future point. Hive has as least some tendency to filter for people who want a more resilient platform that has genuine impact on the world and its users lives.
I'm also a huge fan of the Alive Tribe by poking around and interacting with the some of the personalities here I've learned quite a bit about Hive.
If you stop by the show please do say hello and say that you saw this in #Alive
Today I'm reading from Brian Jacques Redwall, it's a wonderful tale of adventure with strong moral themes that are enjoyable by both children and adults.
