Hello and welcome to my "Exploring Israel" blog. I enjoy exploring my country by photowalking and photocycling³
Today I want to share with you my trip to a unique Chaim Herzog Beach Promenade in the city of Herzliya.
Herzliya (/hɜːrtsˈliːjə/; Hebrew: הֶרְצְלִיָּה [heʁts(e) liˈja], Arabic: هرتسليا) is an affluent city in the central coast of Israel, at the northern part of the Tel Aviv District, known for its robust start-up and entrepreneurial culture. In 2019 it had a population of 97,470.[1] Named after Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern Zionism, Herzliya covers an area of 21.6 square kilometres (8.3 sq mi). Its western, beachfront area is called Herzliya Pituah and is one of Israel's most affluent neighborhoods and home to numerous embassies, ambassadors' residences, companies headquarters and houses of prominent Israeli business people⁴
The most dominant feature of the promenade is twin elevator towers with a panoramic viewing platform.
There is quite a climb from the beach to the city because the beach is much lower than the surrounding area.
To make things easier elevators were installed. They take people from street level to the beach.
As far as I seen, this beach elevator is the only one in Israel.
Here is the photo of the elevator from street level and elevator platform.
From the other side
This is the path I took to climb to the street level
Here is the view of the Acadea beach from elevetor's viewing platform
I was able to photograph a beautiful view of the beach and Mediterranean sea because the platform is so high
Very interesting trip with a unique and beautiful views of the beach.
Thank you for reading and your support!
