Recently I have been working on a German grammar book every day. I bought it before I started my life in Austria 13 years ago. It is an old style text book on which I write answers by my hand. I like the process as an oldy learner.
The reason I started working on the grammar book again is that after living in Germany for more than 10 years, I am able to handle daily things in German, but there are still a lot of situations in which I cannot communicate or understand others well. And English made me lazy the last years 😅
Nowadays, it may be more common to learn a foreign language by using apps or watching YouTube videos, but I also thought that it would be encouraging for my daughter if she sees me studying. My mother was a typical Asian tiger mama focuses on education for a while, and even though she told me to study, I didn't really feel like studying. I liked to learn new things but as long as it's not pushed by others. Rather, I remember that when my mother started being into her translation work, studying became interesting to me and I began to do it on my own.
It's not sure yet but my daughter do her workbooks more these days. Lets's see I improve my German and she studies more 😁
How do you study when you study a foreign language?
